身体と自然、技術の交わりから、命とは何かを探る。

自身の身体や肌、自然、光、水、風など、現実に存在するものを起点として制作・研究を行う。アクリル絵具やスプレーなどを用い、手や身体、ブラシで描く絵画や、手仕事による造形をはじめ、写真、映像、レリーフ、空間、コード、AI、音声へと表現を広げる。それらを、禅に根ざした日本的な「調和」の感覚で、一つの作品や体験へと構成する。身体や自然、手仕事と技術の交わりを通して、人間の存在や知覚、記憶、そして「人間らしさ」を探究している。

AIは、リサーチや比較、情報の数値化・構造整理、表現の実験を進めるために活用。そこから何を読み取り、選び、形にするかを、人間の経験、感性、判断と結びつけて考える。

また、AI言語文化評価アナリストとして、グローバルAI企業のプロジェクトに携わり、日本語と英語の文化的背景、文脈、ニュアンス、倫理、対話の自然さを評価・検証している。

ファッション、写真、建築、インテリアで培った、人と身体、空間、感覚への視点。そして、福祉、教育、発達支援、高齢者ケアなど、命と直接向き合う現場で多様な人々と関わってきた経験が、その活動を支えている。

命とは何か。生きることとは何か。
一人の身体から社会へ、過去から未来へ。その問いを掘り下げ、芸術と研究を通して、人間の存在と表現の可能性を探り続ける。

その芸術探究から、独自の「新アート思考」を生み出す。物事の背景にある歴史、人間、文化、構造、時間の重なりを掘り下げ、情報の関係を読み取り、仮説を立てる。観察・設計・検証・編集・物質化を往復しながら、まだ見えていない可能性を、新しい表現や体験、計画へと展開する。

また、この思考を独自のAI活用へと応用。

芸術から社会へと実践の場を広げ、その考え方を広める活動をスタートした。

HISTORY

 小学校時代から日本のインターナショナルスクールに通い、異なる言語や文化、価値観に触れて育つ。一つの常識にとらわれず、物事を複数の角度から捉える視点を養う。

十代ではプロダクションに所属し、女優・歌手・タレントとして活動。イメージの広げ方、身体や言葉による伝え方を学び、感性と表現の引き出しを増やしてきた。

イギリスの大学で美術・デザインを学んだ後、ファッション、空間、フラワーデザインなどの分野で、クリエイティブ、企画、マーケティング、プロデュースに携わる。国内外の企業・個人との取引や、インテリアブランドとのコラボレーションを通して、相手の意図を読み取る洞察力、異なる要素を結びつける発想力、アイデアを具体化する構成力を磨いてきた。

表現する側と、企画・プロデュースする側。その両方の経験が、感覚から生まれるイメージと、目的・素材・空間・予算などの条件を行き来する思考力につながっている。分野を越えて蓄積した引き出しから、その場に必要な視点を取り出し、実現できる形へと組み立てる。

2018年よりアーティストとしての活動を開始し、2019年からAIを活用。デザインの実務で培った企画・構成力に、芸術制作での観察力と実験精神を重ね、問いを掘り下げる力と、未知の方法を試す柔軟性を育んできた。

こうした経験の積み重ねが、現在の制作・研究と、他者の可能性を引き出す活動の基盤となっている。

Through art and research, Masa Hayami explores humanity, culture, society, and the future.
At the intersection of the body, nature, and technology, she asks what it means to be alive.

Her practice begins with what physically exists: her own body and skin, nature, light, water, and wind. Her work spans painting with acrylics, sprays, and other materials using her hands, body, and brushes; handmade forms; photography; moving image; relief; space; code; AI; and voice. Guided by a Japanese sense of harmony rooted in Zen, she brings these elements together into artworks and experiences. Through encounters between the body, nature, handwork, and technology, she investigates human presence, perception, memory, and what it means to be human.

She uses AI for research, comparison, quantification, information structuring, and experiments in expression. What she draws from these processes, selects, and gives form to is informed by human experience, sensibility, and judgment.

As an AI Linguistic & Cultural Evaluation Analyst, she also contributes to projects for global AI companies, evaluating cultural context, nuance, ethics, and the naturalness of dialogue in Japanese and English.

Her practice draws on perspectives on people, the body, space, and the senses cultivated through fashion, photography, architecture, and interior design. It is also grounded in her experience working with diverse people in welfare, education, developmental support, and elder care—settings where questions of life are encountered directly.

What is life? What does it mean to live?
From an individual body to society, from the past to the future, she pursues these questions through art and research, exploring the possibilities of human existence and expression.

From this artistic inquiry, she developed her original approach, “New Art Thinking”. It examines the layers of history, people, culture, structure, and time behind things, reads relationships between information, and forms hypotheses. Moving between observation, design, testing, editing, and material realization, it develops possibilities that have yet to emerge into new expressions, experiences, and plans.

She has also begun applying this approach to her own methods of working with AI, extending its practice from art into society and sharing the thinking behind it.　　

HISTORY

 Masa Hayami attended an international school in Japan from primary school, growing up among different languages, cultures, and values. This environment nurtured her ability to see beyond familiar assumptions and approach things from multiple perspectives.

As a teenager, she joined a talent agency and worked as an actress, singer and media personality, learning to develop ideas and communicate through the body and language while expanding her creative and expressive repertoire.

After studying art and design at university in the UK, she worked across fashion, spatial design, and floral design, taking on creative, planning,marketing,and production roles. Through work with companies and individuals in Japan and abroad, as well as collaborations with interior design brands, she sharpened her ability to understand others’ intentions, connect disparate elements, and turn ideas into tangible outcomes.

Her experience as both a performer and a creative planner and producer developed her ability to move between intuitive ideas and practical considerations such as purpose, materials, space, and budget. Drawing on a repertoire built across disciplines, she identifies the perspectives each situation calls for and shapes them into workable proposals.

She began her practice as an artist in 2018 and started working with AI in 2019. Combining the planning and composition skills cultivated through design with the close observation and experimentation of artistic practice, she has developed the capacity to pursue questions in depth and the flexibility to explore unfamiliar methods.

These accumulated experiences underpin her art, research, and work to draw out the creative potential of others.
